I had Ralph Salermo, his son Giovanni Salermo (8yrs old) and friend Matt Piro (13yrs old) out for early morning fluke fest on Barnegat Bay. Well - we had everything stacked against us - dirty bay water, an outgoing tide, moderate North-west wind, and biting black flies. But perseverance paid off - all three anglers fished hard and I think we hit about 15 different spots. Giovanni had the largest fluke of the day measuring a respectable 22.5 inches. In total, the crew boxed 4 keeper fluke (22.5, 18.5, 18, 17.5). Thanks again, the boys did great - hope to see you next year. Sometimes you need to work a little extra to get those keepers especially when fishing less-than-ideal tidal conditions.
