Mid May Report

May is the month of fishing possibilities, and with family/HS coaching obligations out of the way - we're ready.  Weekly afternoon trips will start next week.

I did have a chance to check out the Striped Bass scene and my father (Mike) ended up putting a beautiful 44" 35lb Striped bass in the boat - his personal best (picture attached).  The fish was caught in the morning and went for a white Maja spoon trolled off Barnegat Light.  The morning bite has been a little slow, but from what I heard the afternoon bite has been much better.  Most of the bait has been scattered, so trolling has been the means of putting them in the box.

Reminder, fluke opens this Friday 5/23 (5 fish @ 18inches) - that's another option.  And I have the last of my spring seminars tonight (Free to Public) at Shooter's Sporting Center in off Exit 58 GSP (5/20/14 @ 7pm to 8pm) on backbay, inlet, and ocean fluke tactics.  I don't spot-burn, but general locations and tactics will be discussed.

Regarding trips, I will start running afternoon trips next week (3pm to 7pm? or 8pm?) and have some weekend dates left for either Striped Bass (ocean) or Backbay (fluke, bluefish, blowfish) in May.  June and July fluke dates are started to fill up and after June 20th (school out) - I will run charters 7 days a week.  All tackle, bait, ice, fish-cleaning, etc is included on all chartered trips.  If interested in booking, give me a ring 609-290-7709 or book through the website (www.reelreactioncharters.com).
