5/24 - 5/25/2014 report

With the fluke season opening on Friday (May 23rd), I had the chance to fish with my 6yr old son Luke on Saturday afternoon - it was a slow steady pick with two keepers 18.5 and 19 inches.  The fish had bulging bellies of Mantis shrimp.  Sunday morning's charter celebrated Tom Duralek Sr., and brother-in-law Adam Italiano's birthdays along with Tom Duralek, the crew started with snag/drop bunker dunkin with no takers - so we trolled Maja spoons and ended up putting a beautiful 43" - 33lb striped bass in the boat.  10 minutes later we had the reel screaming, but the fish came undone.  It was a slower day with trollers seeming to take most of the fish.
