Well, we missed the slam today. I had Thomas Dillon and his son Tommy of Ramsey, NJ on a 4hr Bay & Inlet charter. The inlet conditions were "a little sporty". I had to be on the throttle the entire time to keep us from being pushed on the rocks from the SE swell, 15-20knot wind, and the wicked full-moon current - not to mention other boat wakes. The father & son had a few missed hits, but finally connected with a nice bluefish. But unfortunately we couldn't connect on any striped bass. We moved to the back to bail the short fluke, close to 50 for the pair. Unfortunately the 18inch and above wouldn't cooperate, this was the father and son's first time bucktailing and they learned quickly, with young Tommy outfishing Dad this time. Nice job!!
