4hr Bay Fluke Trip - Tough winds

I had return clients Derek Bowen of Short Hills, NJ with his wife Christina, 12yr. old daughter Megan, and 10yr old daughter Dani on a 4hr Bay Fluke trip. We started off the trip with ideal conditions almost no wind and some good incoming current. We picked a few fish, including Derek connecting on a fat 19.5 inch Fluke. We moved to follow the current, and then the wind decided to blow. We moved from spot to spot picking a few shorts here and there. We finished up close to the inlet looking for deflection from the steady 15-20 knot winds, and the foursome released some more shorts close to the 18 inch mark and a few sea bass. When your drifting in the bay between 2 and 2.5 knots, you know it's tough fishing. The girls did an excellent job for their 3rd year, and we are looking forward to having them back!! They did get a special treat with it being "Coast Guard day" and the USCG did a few mock rescues near the inlet!
