I had the Paul Covine charter out for an 5hr ocean fluke trip - we hit 3 different areas running probably close to 35miles, and pounded various wrecks that generally produce nice fish. The crew fished very hard using all of our choice baits, but unfortunately they could not put a keeper in the boat and even the shorts had a slight case of lock jaw. We had a nice school of 20inch Mahi that followed us on one of our drifts, but would not take any of our offerings even went down to 10lb test flourocarbon leader. The only factor that could have influenced the fluke had to be the full moon's effect on the ocean current - with unusually strong tides. But we won't give up - gotta get right back out there.
