I had Executive Director of the American Fisheries Society, Dr. Doug Austen, with fellow industry experts' James Vasslides and John Balletts on a 5hr bay charter. We had the start of the outgoing tide with a heavy NW wind and fished the flats with Tsunami poppers in 4ft of water - definitely was not as "fishy" as the week prior. After moving to a clamming location and getting situated on the hook, we started clamming for striped bass, but became inundated with 3-8lb blues. The guys had a ball catching the blue bruisers on both clam and throwing S&S rock hoppers in the slick. The guys ended the trip throwing poppers at a few different locations and had a couple of hook ups.
