That's a wrap for 2025!!!

We are pulling the vessel this week and are done for the 2025 season. We thank all who sailed with us this season and wish everyone a happy holidays and healthy New Year. We have 77 trips on the books for next year (2026), so if you haven't called - please PM or text me to get on our schedule. Several months are almost completely booked out.

I had all intentions in staying in, but I had to cancel the rest of our tautog trips in 2026 due to a short hospital stay. All is good, just no lifting or boating for a month. A huge thank you to family and close friends/clients who reached out. See you at the shows and on the water in 2026!!!

Good sized tautog released to 13.5 pounds!

I had return clients Matt Windover and crew on a 5hr tog charter and the guys did an exceptional job with a grinding bite. We had a few spurts of nice fish with the largest boxed at 8 pounds. The guys put 15 in the box, and Matt released a nice 13.5 pounder. Great morning on the water - also saw a full-breaching whale - but too far to identify.

Very tough striper bite - slightly better on tautog - 10/11 pound released.

Ran 2 charters today - just a tad windy and cold.

In the morning, I had return clients Nick Cardone & family on a 5hr striped bass charter. We worked the beach to find birds and bait, but not much in terms of striped bass action - missed one fish. Switched to tautog with some time remaining and released over 25 shorts - keeping one 18 inch for the table.

Next, I had return clients Michael Futterman and his two boys on a 5hr striped bass - turned tog charter due to the morning non-existent striper bite. We made a little run to some snaggy pieces. The boys did a great job working through 25+ shorts to put 6 keepers to 9 pounds in the box. We did release one between 10 to 11 pounds via BOGA. Jakob had the hot hand today - nice to see kids who've been out with me since elementary school now in high school!!!

Tough day all around, especially on the striped bass front!

Most of our remaining trips will be targeting tautog - only about a month left in our season before we pull the plug on 2025.

Grinding tautog bite - 18k to 6 pounds

A grind Tautog bite: Late on the report - I had return client "Cookie-man" George of PA along with his family on a 5hr charter - the guys opted for tautog as compared to striped bass. We battled some short period S waves to get to a decent spot. The guys grinded through a good number of shorts and boxed 18 keepers to 6 pounds. Excellent job by the guys!!

Crazy boat traffic today - I had return client Keith Linde and his son (home from PSU) out on a combo striped bass and tautog charter. Bassing was a somewhat a challenge with uber amounts of boat traffic, but we picked at a few tagged fish to 27.5 inches. With some time left we switched over to tog and the first timers released close 15 fish while boxing 2 for the table.

We will be fishing this week prior and post the Thanksgiving holiday. As long as we continue to have a good supply of white crab baits, I have the following dates available for tog charters 12/29, 12/30, and 1/2.

The 2026 calendar is open and most weekends are booked for June, July, and August. Please PM if you know your availability.

Combo Striped Bass and Tog charters - some days epic, other days challenging! But still grinding!!

We had some really challenging days with few bass biting or tog, and other days of epic blitzing striped bass!! But that's fishing!!

Heres a quick rundown - over the past week ran 4 charters with mixed results - good striped bass days had over 25 fish being landed with mix of slots and tagged fish. We nailed fish to 45 inches on STRIDE baits and soft plastics, while working some areas with live-lined baits to produce 5 to 8 tagged fish along with fluke to 22 inches. Togging has been seeing 30-40 fish but very few on keeps, but we will be pointing the vessel in a different direction to target some larger ones!

Busy last two days!

Friday afternoon - I had return client Luke Warwick and his son on quick 3hr bay striped bass charter. We had some tough conditions - dirty water and wind against tide. The guys worked hard and went 1 for 4 with a 33-inch released.

Saturday morning - I had new Vince Noonan and his buddy on a quick 3hr striped trip. The guys worked hard, but had a tough time with the circles going 3 for 12. They boxed a 30-in and a tagged 27-in, still a great morning with great guys!!

We are cancelled for the opening tautog with tomorrow's, hopefully be at it next weekend.

Tough winds - but WEST is BEST! I had return clients Robert Boyle and company on a afternoon charter. We worked multiple areas and the boys put a hurting on the striped bass - keeping 5 tagged (24-27in) and a slot (28-31) while releasing quite a few others to 33 inches. Stopped a small rockpile in the bay and boxed our 5 keeper limit of tautog to 19 inches. Great afternoon - cold, heavy wind, but good bites!!

Big bass bite was on today.

I had return client Bob Reim and crew out on a 5hr striped bass charter and bass to 46 inches did not disappoint. The guys went right to work with multiple fish between 39 to 46 inches on the 1st half dozen sets. All fish were caught bayside and quickly released with the guys going 11 for 12 on fish with light tackle baits. We moved to an area looking for keepers, but they could only manage 1 at 31 inches. Switched to tautog and boxed our 5-man limit to 17 inches. Great morning on the water!!

I had return client Dan and friends on a 5hr striped bass charter. We had the worst conditions of the week inside with strong winds and super dirty water. Worked a bunch of areas - eeked by with over a dozen striped bass to 27 inches. The boys boxed their 4-fish tag limit of bass. We switched to tautog and the bite was challenging - hit 4 spots and had water like the Mississippi. Got one keeper at 16 inches. Tough fishing, but at least put a few in the box.

We cancelled the morning trip with return client Dave C (we will get you back out Dave) due to the wind, but stuck with the afternoon booking with return client Tim Murphy, newly married Kevin Murphy (congrats!!), and family on a 5hr combo charter.

We worked stripers first in heavy wind and dirty water, but the guys eeked out a couple of fish to 32.5 inches - kept one for the table at 29.5in. Switched to tog - worked through shorts to box 5 keepers to 20 inches. Switched back to stripers the last 30 min, but no takers on the slower tide.

Got a great pick of the marsh and full moon on the way back to the dock - got to love fishing in New Jersey!

Another solid day - double charters and good numbers of striped bass.

In the morning, I had return client Pat Thomas and crew on a 5hr striped bass / tautog combo charter. We worked a sporty inlet for tautog boxing our 4-fish limit. Next, we worked some areas with 0 boats to release close to 20 striped bass to 35 inches. The guys boxed 7 keepers (3 slot, 4 tagged). We had rain, wind, sporty seas, but the guys did great!!

Next, I had return clients Lauren H and crew on 5hr striped / tog combo charter. The seas were still sporty, but we worked in the inlet to box 6-fish limit of tautog to 20 inches. The striped bass bite was a tad slower as we released a 1/2 dozen, boxing 3 keeps (2 slot, 1 tag).

Great to be back after the past NE storm. I had return client the John Barton party on a 5hr striped bass and tog trip. We worked some tautog around the inlet to produce our 5-fish limit to 19 inches and then the guys went to work feeding live baits to striped bass. They boxed 4 fish to 31 inches while releasing another 8 between 34 to 40 inches. Even released a keeper fluke! On the way home (after clean up) - saw a nice bald eagle off of Barnegat.

We will be running doubles every day this week for combo striped bass and tautog!

Late Report - Slower sea bass after storm!!

We were at it again this morning as I had return client Dan, Aaron, and Fernando on a 5hr sea bass charter. We left pretty early and made a run, the seas were sporty to say the least. The guys did a great job as the porgy action was crazy. Ended the day with close to 20 nice sea bass, 3 triggers, and 50 porgies. The guys through a ton back including: keeper porgies, short sea bass, bergalls, eels, and borderline keeper tautog!

I had return client Bruce C of Illinois on a 4hr afternoon trip. Well the wind was supposed to drop out - NOT! We had some steep seas and could not go where we wanted too, but we stayed and played local. Bruce did a nice job boxing close to a 2-man limit of sea bass to 18 inches, 3 nice triggers, porgy and a 17-inch tog!! Sporty seas but Minn Kota worked hard to hold us!!

Prestorm sea bassing - I had return Luke Warwick and his son Dillon on a 4hr sea bass trip afterschool. Luke told Dillon that he had a dentist appt, but surprised him for a sea bass trip.

We had rather sporty conditions and stayed closer to home than I wanted, but the father & son team boxed their limit of sea bass to 18.5 inches, along with a nice trigger and porgy. Released American eel, tautog, dogfish, sea robin, and a bunch of short sea bass. Sporty seas, but good sea bassing.

Double sea bass trips - 1st - quick 5-man limit; 2nd - good bite, but Atlantic flu

A little late on the report, but I had return client Tom Joseph 5hr sea bass charter in the morning. We worked one small piece and the boys boxed their 50-fish limit along with 13 porgies and 10 bluefish. The full moon current was very strong, but fish were still biting.

Due to scheduling and flight arrangements, we only had the afternoon to try for sea bass as I had return client Alex Gal, his wife, mom, and his relatives from Hungary on a 3hr sea bass trip. Unfortunately the wind alrieady was kicking at 20+ knots by the time we hit the inlet, but the seas were doable. First stop and drop with 3 anglers fishing produced: 3 keeper sea bass, 1 nice trigger and two short tautog. But the Atlantic flu had other plans, we had to head to the barn. Tried the inlet area for blackfish, but current ripping at 3+ knots.

Smoked a few blues from the first trip - fish dip for the weekend!

7-man limit sea bass to 19-inches, porgy, triggers, and blues!

I had return client Ralph R, Smokey Bill, Wawa Dave, Bryce, and Renn on a 5hr Sea bass. We worked a few different pieces and the guys got their 70-fish sea bass limit to 19 inches, a dozen porgies, 2 triggers and some bluefish. Great morning on the water - drop-n-reel for most of the time!

OPENINGS: Limited weekday OPENBOAT/CHARTER openings and these are afterschool (230-630pm) for 4hr sea bass - $125 a person (need 4). All fish split - includes everything (bait, tackle, ice)

OCTOBER - NIGHT TIME Striped Bass Artificials (6 slots avail.)

NOVEMBER - Striped bass (3 slots remaining)

NOVEMBER/DECEMBER - Tautog (2 slots remaining)

Good Sea Bass delayed opener - Quick limits!!

Good sea bassing & big swell - I had the Joe Hoffman, his brother Matt, and nephew Chris out on a morning sea bass charter. Drop-n-reel bite - We got our 4-man limit with two nice triggers and then played C&R with some tautog. Several nice sea bass to 19 inches.

Headed back out to pick a quick 10-fish limit for dinner - done in 20 minutes and a bunch on the AVA jig. Gonna try steamed sea bass with ginger/scallions as per clients recommendation.

I got some limited weekday OPENBOAT/CHARTER openings and these are afterschool (230-630pm) for 4hr sea bass - $125 a person (need 4). All fish split - includes everything (bait, tackle, ice)

Unfortunately, we've been stuck inside the last 2 days due to the winds and swell!

First, I had return client Ralph Rodio and Dave D (Wawa Dave as they call him) on a 4hr charter. We started with tautog and worked through 45+ tog to box 4 keepers to 17 inches (2 client, capt, and mate - in case anyone wonders?). Finished the trip with bay fluke, but could only muster shorts to 17.5 inches on peanut bunker.

Next, I had return client Terence M and his wife Somprasong on a 4hr charter for blowfish and more. We worked a few areas and the husband and wife team boxed 28 blowfish, 2 kingfish, and a few eater spot. We tried for fluke for the last 45 minutes, but could only muster some shorts. Still great time seeing them!!
