Tuesday's doubles - In the morning, I had return client Brad D and his 12yr old son Jason on a 3hr charter. We went right to work and quickly boxed close to a boat limit with 5 striped bass (2 slots / 3 bonus tags) while releasing a bunch in the 31.5 to 34 inch range. Quick switch over to tautog as we hit a small piece south - it was lights out togging with fish to 17 inches. We finished with a quick run up the beach - getting into a small pod - had one pick up - headed in.
The afternoon trip was completely different as the wind picked up and made the drifts/angles tough to say the least for stripers. I had return clients Paul P, his son Paul Jr., and brother Brian on a 4hr striped bass/ tog charter. We started filling the box with a boat limit of tautog to 16 inches. Spent the next 3 hours hitting too many spots, dropoffs, and rip-lines - finally got tight to a striper, but bass came unglued in the current. Tough way to end the day. Luke gave us a hand as deck mate for the afternoon.
